Description
The Thomastik Infeld THDP-01SN E-string for 4/4 violin delivers a warm, open tone with light tension. At approximately 0.262 mm in diameter, it's one of the slimmer options in the DOMINANT PRO series, ideal for violins with normal or high string positions (high bridge or dropped fingerboard). Constructed of tin-plated carbon steel, it adds warmth to the sound and provides direct, responsive bow movement. With a tension of approximately 7.9 kg, it requires less bow pressure and allows the instrument's tone to open up, resulting in generous projection and sparkling clarity in the upper range. The THDP-01SN also features a removable ball end, making it easy to install on your instrument.
Note the difference from other THDP versions: the THDP-01SN is nickel-free plated, making it slightly more susceptible to corrosion than nickel-bonded versions. That said, it delivers a warmer, richer sound and maintains the lowest tension of the DOMINANT PRO E strings, resulting in a light touch and excellent bow response. This makes it an excellent choice for violinists seeking an open, colorful tone with added radiance in the upper registers, without sacrificing playing comfort or bow feel.
