StewMac SM4237 Black Fretboard Stain – Higgins India Ink – 60ml

The StewMac SM4237 is a high-quality black fingerboard stain based on Higgins India Ink , supplied in a 60 ml bottle. This ink is specially formulated to stain striped ebony wood to a deep, even black, ideal for fingerboards, bridges, tailpieces, and headstocks of guitars, violins, mandolins, and banjos. At a time when naturally black ebony is becoming increasingly rare, this product offers a perfect solution for "ebonizing" the wood and achieving a classic, dark finish.

The ink is completely non-toxic, non-flammable, and doesn't leave a blue or gray cast like many other black stains. It's easy to apply with a cloth or brush and dries thoroughly for a long-lasting result. It's also suitable for revitalizing old parts or giving new components a more aged look. It can be mixed with other dyes to achieve darker shades.
