The Mad Professor Super Black is a versatile preamp, booster, and overdrive that brings the legendary Fender Blackface amplifiers of the '60s (1963-1968) into a compact pedal. The characteristic punchy cleans with a mid-scooped sound and crystal-clear definition have been meticulously replicated, including the complete signal path of these iconic amplifiers.

This pedal offers authentic Blackface tones and can be used as a preamp in an amplifier's FX return , allowing you to utilize the full tone of the Super Black. Thanks to adjustable gain and volume, you'll experience the characteristic Blackface breakup , even at low volume.

To enhance versatility, the Sweet Honey Overdrive is integrated into the pedal. This dynamic overdrive is perfectly matched to the Blackface sound , giving you a wide range of tonal possibilities, from clean boost to punchy overdrive .

Operation

• MIDDLE & TREBLE: Control the amount of mids and high frequencies in the preamp section.
• BASS: Adjusts the amount of low frequencies.
• PRESENCE: Determines the amount of high frequencies in the output.
• GAIN: Adjusts the distortion on the Blackface side of the pedal.
• DRIVE: Adjusts the distortion on the Sweet Honey Overdrive side.
• VOLUME (x2): Separately adjustable for Blackface and Sweet Honey Overdrive.
• BASS CUT SWITCH: Left = full bass level, right = slightly reduced bass.
• COMPRESSION SWITCH: Left = more compression, right = less compression for maximum dynamics.
